STURGEON,
a Fish with Golden Eggs

This mythical fish is older than the dinosaurs. It’s eggs can fascinate or arouse keen interest among people ! We joined the fishermen in their frail little boats on the Caspian sea to capture Belugas, Asetras and Sevrugas before returning to the fishing station scattered alongside the Northern Iranian shores.

We witness the delicate operation of extracting the precious roe, the salting and the canning process. The flesh of the sturgeon is then frozen, before to be either smoked or grilled
